Record which plan the console shows and which project will run the prototype. A successful request proves that particular request was accepted; it does not establish a permanent allowance or the future availability of the selected model.

Limits of the free tier

Test a short sequence of representative requests before opening access to other people. A demonstration that works during a quiet session may fail under a burst. Keep a queue visible to users so waiting is understandable instead of presenting every delay as a model failure.

What ends the free tier

Separate a deliberate upgrade from a temporary refusal. Reaching a Free-plan capacity boundary is not evidence that creating more keys will help. How to build within the free tier

Use a modest evaluation workload with a known purpose: classification, extraction, summarization or a small assistant flow. Keep the prompt and expected properties fixed while comparing models. Alternatives if you need more

For Groq itself, compare the paid pricing structure with the capacity you need. A paid option only solves the problem if its access, throughput and quality match the application. Keep an explicit shutdown path if your budget does not support that option.
